Lust For Life

Live in harmony with your passions, and get in touch with what you need to feel more fulfilled than you ever though possible.

Have you fallen into a routine of the same old patterns? Feel like you are on a treadmill repeating the same things day after day? Are you looking to feel more excited about life again, and bring back the joys and wonderment of your younger days? Begin by adding in more of the things you love to do into your daily routine.

Start bit by bit designing your life around the things that you really enjoy that you’re not currently doing. Ask yourself; “What do my passions lead me to do?” and “How can I adjust my present situation to include more of my passions?” Once you identify what you may be missing from your life to feel satisfied, you naturally know where to begin making change. It appears really simplistic, but the basic fact is, that many of us over look this one little aspect…our own enjoyment in life. We fall into routine, and sometimes put our our own desires and dreams on the back burner, while we tend to work and other obligations, and after doing that for months/years at a time, one tends to feel a little lost or unfulfilled. Break out of the same old routine and add some fun back into your life. Try this next exercise…

Bring back your “joie de vivre” by creating a list of ways you can treat yourself well. On the list include, the people you enjoy spending time with, and who treat you well, places where you feel happy, peaceful, excited and/or satisfied, and goals that you wish to achieve. Post this list by your calendar or on the fridge where you’ll see it often and remind you. Making a list will help you to be true to yourself, so that you’ll know what you love to do, and can do more of it, and let go of the other stuff that is unfulfilling.

After finding great ways to can treat yourself well and incorporating them into your daily life, identify the things that are upsetting to you, such as illnesses, fears, shame, guilt, hurt, negative people, stress…etc., and create a second list. Beside each of the upsets, figure out what would make you feel better, safer, calmer, happier, healthier and more peaceful. Then, next time one of these upsets occur, mentally remind yourself that you have the resources internally and externally to make you feel more at ease, and put to work your positive responses. Once you know how to conquer upsets, you can actively begin seeking out the people and places that support you, knowing that it will help you to feel better.

As you take more care of yourself, and begin doing what you truly enjoy, and what matters to you most, you’ll find yourself with a natural energy that will get you excited about life, and make everyday living easier and much more fun filled.
